Rain deficit, wind, and low humidity: recipe for a scare

Wednesday around noon we were told at school a brush fire had grown to a forest fire in our area. Low humidity, a 4 inch rain deficit, and sustained 20+mph winds with gusts up to 30mph helped grow a full fledged raging forest fire, the perfect ingredients to grow flames.
