Happy Blog Birthday Mr. Granito!
Oct 31st, 2008 by Cathy Jo Nelson
Oh Mark–wow it’s been a year. But yes, admittedly these are the things I celebrate. I wanted to comment on your blog that day, but that day (and this week) was CRAZY. If you look
at this date from my Google calendar, you will see it was there as a reminder. So sorry this is late. I am so PROUD of your blog there. It is probably selfish for me to think that I’ve had anything to do with your success (and yes, you are QUITE a success in my book) but I can remember the excitement and fervor with which you began after being introduced by me to the 2007 K12 Online Conference and the concept of reading blogs and even blogging. Are you partaking of this year’s K12 Online Conference? I hope so. I’m delighted to find that you still use your blog for personal reflection and class action, be it sharing student work, outlining the week’s assignments, or offering “think out of the box” teasers to your students. Your blog is so multi-functional. Even today a student (Katie H.) asked me if I had heard from you lately. She was disappointed that we didn’t get the debate thing going. The CMS kids miss you.

I don’t know if you noticed, but I moved you out of my Blogroll of SC People, especially since you no longer
qualify. Jersey must be treating you well. Your shared material is exciting and interesting. Keep up the good work. Now it’s time for me to change the URL of your blog too. PLEASE stay in touch. I hope to wish you a happy 2nd blog birthday. Oh, here’s your birthday present. Only you could get away with saying this to me, so “back at ya.” Wish I could really give it to you.

Cathy,
Thanks for the well wishes. I’m sorry the debate fell through. We’ve been so busy up here. We’ll definitely do something this year. By the way…next time you see Mary Clark, tell her to check her email. I sent her something twice that needs her attention.
