DISCUS 2011 Evaluation Project is underway
Sep 12th, 2011 by Cathy Jo Nelson
DISCUS – South Carolina’s Virtual Library periodically evaluates the current and evolving needs of the three communities served: K-12, public libraries, and college/university libraries. The process is guided by the DISCUS Program Goals and Vision (pdf) to establish priorities for the selection of online library resources for statewide licensing.
DISCUS funding has not been increased. The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the needs for each of our communities and explore the concept of a possible re-mix of products to provide the best set of resources for the dollars available. This process will also include a review of our current content offerings. Resources selected for the DISCUS collection will be licensed for use in 2012.
Your Participation Is Needed!
We need your input as part of this process. Please use the categories on the left of the trial page to trial as many of the resources as possible. After you’ve explored an individual product, use the Provide Feedback link and answer a few simple questions about the resource. Your feedback is important! The trials will run through Friday, October 7, 2011. Thank you for participating in this important process!
*Please note: You will need the DISCUS Home Access username and password to access each of these trials. If you don’t have the new information for 2012, please contact the DISCUS Office or your local librarian/media specialist.
