A Day in the life of a school library
Apr 29th, 2011 by Cathy Jo Nelson
The South Carolina Association of School Librarians hosted a month long event for our School Library Snapshot Day. The advocacy committee worked diligently to plan the event, finally deciding that to meet the widely varying schedules of our schools, it was best to allow each school librarian the flexibility to choose a single day in April. Today marks the last school day of the month, and as a SCASL Advocacy committee member (under the superior leadership of Committee Chair Fran Bullington) I am charged with uploading photos emailed in to our SCASL Flickr site.I am happy to report we have 120 images being shared about Library Snapshot Day, and folks still have until May 5th to share their pictures in Flickr and upload their collected data via Survey Monkey. In the next few days, our committee will be convening to sort through and analyze the data. We hope to put together an Advocacy tool to give members for the purpose of showing our school leaders, board members, and legislators, and community members the high importance of our programs.
Thanks to any and all South Carolina school librarians who made a contribution to this advocacy effort. All will benefit, even those who quietly sat out the effort.

Great pics! I can tell there’s lots of reading and learning and tech-ing and teaching going on! That LCD projector on the cart looks like mine! LOL!
