Let number five begin!

Today brings to a close the fourth year I have maintained this blog. Much has changed in those four years, including relocating my home a couple of times as well as changing jobs three times. What? yeah. If your curious about either of these, you’ll have to ask in person.
It has been hosted in Blogger, Edublogs, and now on my own domain using WordPress. Why keep it up? I love the feel of writing for a virtual audience. And often times those in my virtual audience inspire and encourage me to continue along this path.
Thanks for the original inspiration Doug Johnson, Joyce Valenza, Will Richardson, and so many more–these are the virtual mentors who introduced the concept to me so long ago at the then known as NECC Conference in Philadelphia, PA back in 2005.
I began reading all these bloggers I was exposed to back then right away, and by the next year (2006 NECC – San Diego) had a blog of my own for the purpose of sharing and learning along the way.
I’m still plugging away at it, as are many of my virtual and real mentors and friends. It has been a rich and rewarding experience so far, which keeps me at it. Lifting my virtual glass to the beginning of year five as a blogger, for continued sharing and more learning of my own.

Happy Blogiversary Cathy!
\_/) This is my virtual glass for a toast:-)
I had a similar experience with my blog early on as I started it on elgg, and it got moved to eduspaces before I said, ‘enough’ and started hosting my own. I think it is important to recognize and appreciate a commitment that is a labour of love. In the end, it doesn’t really matter where our blog calls itself home, what matters is that we enjoy writing, sharing and learning… have a fantastic 5th year @cathyjo!
Cheers, Cathy. The Roman numeral for 5 is “V” which is also the sign for Victory. Good luck in your continuing fight for Victory over ignorance!
Looking forward to celebrating with you and the rest of our tribe in Chicago and thanking you for YOUR inspiration, my friend.

Happy Birthday Kathy! I look forward to year five of your writing and learning from you. I don’t say enough and write a lot comments, but read everything you write. Your writing has had an impact on my learning and thinking. Keep doing it! Bill
Congratulations on four years of blogging! In those four years, you have challenged me to think and to try new things. I appreciate your willingness and generosity as my mentor and will raise a virtual glass with you! Here’s to year five (and six and seven!).
