Considering the Journey to NB Certification?

I was asked recently to be a part of a ISTE-SIGMS sponsored webinar centered on helping librarians make that decision to get in the fray. Is this an easy process? What are the challenges? Where is there help available? What resources (people and literature) can I connect to that are helpful?
Why should I?
Many candidates have these questions long before they make the commitment and sign on a dotted line to “go for it.” But I want those who are contemplating the journey to know that the benefits are lived out long after the journey ends. My favorite fringe benefit is how every professional thought sort of goes automatically through that “nb” filter, causing me to constantly consider things like how is this going to benefit my students, what went right, what went wrong, and how could I do this better next time? I would not trade the experiences I gained from taking my journey, and I freely give back to those who ask me for help in their attempt. Why? Because I know without a shadow of doubt this process will make the person a stronger, better teacher.
