Sharing Badge Widgets
Apr 26th, 2010 by Cathy Jo Nelson
Okay so I thought I would add the badges “widget-style” to my sidebar to show visitors who actually visit (yeah most of my friends visit in a reader and never see the sidebar) what my future professional development opportunities will be.
The UpState Technology Conference is held each summer in Greenville, SC, and best it is 100% free–I hope it stays that way despite the declining economy and tightening of school budgets. I just think teachers should NOT miss a chance to attend a free conference, particularly one that will help them enhance their instructional toolbox like this one. This year’s conference is June 22-23, 2010 at Wade Hampton High School in Greenville, SC.
Want a badge for your sidebar? Here’s the code:

SC Edtech is an annual conference held in Myrtle Beach each Fall and has several sponsors including SCASL. The main sponsor though is the South Carolina Department of education and South Carolina Association of Educational Technology (SCAET). The them this year is “Discover the Mystery” and the site is up and running with a count-down widget to let visitors know how much longer we have to wait–an element of excitement IMHO. Worth the leave each year to attend, and I can say I’ve not missed a single year.

So Now I’m playing with some other widgets that I will place in a few more locations:

Feel free to snag the code or create your own badge widgets using the format above, replacing URLs for images and links (as well as the alternative text) for more “create your own” badge widgets.

Thanks for sharing the codes with us! I must confess that I love widgets and could easily go overboard with them
