RIP Little Mister
Dec 23rd, 2009 by Cathy Jo Nelson
My beloved pumpkin as I affectionately called him had to be put down today. We adopted him from the humane society roughly 14 years ago, and he has been a relatively healthy cat all of his life. Bentley was destined to be an outdoor cat, and was quite the mouser, birdcatcher, and even once brought me a large crawdad from the pond. So it was with a shock and surprise this morning to get up and find him lethargic and unable to walk more than three feet across the room. I will miss this little mister, as he has been fun to love. He had developed into a wonderful pet content to lay in my lap for hours on end if I’d let him. He even entertained Willow when Willow (the youngest of our cats) wanted to play fight or chase him around–highly unusual behavior for any cat over 5 years of age. Bentley will be dearly missed by my whole family.

My heartfelt condolences, Cathy. We had to put down one of our cats a few months ago and I understand the feeling of loss.
Oh, we still have one fat lap cat. Would you like me to ship him to you?
Happy holidays,
Doug
The loss of a well-loved pet is never easy. I hope your other kitties provide distraction and comfort.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope the good memories of your time together will comfort you.
Bently sounds like one very fun and loving kitty, Cathy. The personality differences between cats are really amazing-individual cats have such unique spirits. We have three right now, and I can’t say any one of them are lap cats like your kitty, Bently. It is Thanks for sharing this with me as I prepare for a similar situation with our cat, Mr. Kitty
