Awww Heather you never reply to the list with a whine about sites blocked. NEVER. And I know you make every effort. You are a role model for this post--what to do to get sites unblocked. This is not about you, I promise.

Sigh, yes, I know I'm one of the complainers. BUT, I do request legitimate sites be unblocked. Problem is, some do get unblocked, but some don't. When I request a site be blocked, it takes less than a day. When I ask for a site to be unblocked, it could take weeks, months, or never. I don't know why. Believe me, when the site is worth fighting for, I'll fight for it. However, even after being told my googlepages library page would be unblocked, it never was. After more than a year, and multiple requests, I had to give up. Martha Alewine's googlepages were unblocked, letting me know that it can be done - I guess I'm just not important enough.

I loved this post! You have stated something so clearly that many people have thought about saying. I have always believed that if I was going to whine about something, I better have a possible solution to go with it. My former principal always told us not to come to him complaining about something unless we had a suggestion for a solution. Usually just whining about something really is unproductive for everyone listening.
