Cathy, don't worry I don't plan on stealing your thunder and may even help your case. My plan on cyberbullying will focus mainly on its definition, how it is done (including social networks), its impact on students, and what schools can do to limit its effects. My big thing is that most people don't know how things like social networks work. They also believe the hype the news media spreads to get ratings. Kids, their parents, and school officials just need to follow some common sense rules they will be fine.

Just think, if we applied the same standards to everyday life that is applied to technology kids would never leave the house out of fear something would happen to them.

You did not tell me what day you are presenting. I hope we are not competing because I would like to see your presentation.

John!! This is my third year presenting with SLI. I wil be doing a session on Social Networking and the School's Role (since it is blocked). Essentially my plan is tot alk about basic FAQs, and then about using a panel discussion parent night (like I have blogged about recently)to help parents understand as well as give all (students, parents, teachers, experts) a voice. I plan to grab snippets of video for the recommended experts I feel will add voice and dimension to the topic. I would carry a panel...but I am not sure they would come. I think it will fly. Do you? I hope you are taking a whole different angle. Please don't steal my thunder. Now--share your topic and approach with a little more detail. Please?
