This is a great road map. I am just afraid we won't be allowed to make the trip. Education budgets around the country are taking huge hits - endangering library jobs big time. I am trying to convince our district that technology know-how is the "value added" for librarians. We do NOT have tech integrationists. In our schools, that is the librarians. It is not our official job title, so I wonder if teachers and administrators have a hard time truly grasping that the rold of the library has expanded.Somehow they think that tech-savvy librarians are the exception to the rule. They still think of librarians as the "book ladies". I am feeling frustrated right now with the techno-resistant hold-outs that are still out there. I just blogged about it at:

In my district, tech is mostly up to the "tech reps", all of whom are teachers in each building - usually including the librarian plus another teacher or two. What I've found is that we are the people that other teachers turn to because we usually don't have a set schedule. I feel like the other tech reps in my building would be great at collaborating, they just don't have the time.

And I completely agree with your idea of using Doug's post as a goal setting tool. The truth of technology is we will never catch up, we just need to learn how to run the race!
